my name is YELLOWCAT and I will paint the town YELLOW

    Yellow is the least color I like when I was a child. Probably because of how other kids tried to bully me. You know how kids does when they see an opportunity to ridicule ones name.

     Nevertheless, as I grow older and gain maturity ( I really hope I could confidently say this to my friends, he.he..)  I learned to love this color  and how it gives meaning to my life now.

     In some cultures YELLOW, became a sign of hope. During world war, women worn a yellow ribbon as they wait from their men to come home. Still some use this to welcome their love ones. In Japan, this represents COURAGE and merchants in India wore this.

     According to color.http://www.squidoo.com/colorexpert. This color is for optimism, enlightenment, and happiness. It is also said that shades of golden yellow carry the promise of a positive future. Yellow will advance from surrounding colors and instill optimism and energy, as well as spark creative thoughts.It affects us mentally and physically.

     As much as I wanted to believe, that this color signify only good meaning I am afraid that it is not. It some cultures, it also means cowardice. In Egypt, they use this color for mourning. During middle ages, actors wore yellow to signify death.Jews wore, yellow armband in Nazi concentration camps. In Greece, this means sadness and jealousy in  France culture.

     Despite of it all, I prefer Yellow as the color of sunshine which emanates happiness. In traffic lights,illumination of the yellow light denoting if safe to, prepare to stop short of the intersection. I choose to believe that it means to GET READY.

 Now I that I start writing this blog, filling up this white page is like having this YELLOW light that I choose to believe that says I AM READY to embark myself to a journey where I am going to paint the town YELLOW!
